KEY DISCUSSION POINTS:

  • Rural enterprises have been hit with double whammy of low rainfall being detrimental to crops, and they can not exploit the benefits of those blue skies for their leisure and tourism enterprises due to Covid-19.

  • Government’s support schemes have been vital in supporting the rural retail, leisure and tourism industries through Covid-19. Further support is critical for the hospitality sector.

  • There is likely to be a boom for UK tourism and leisure once lockdown ends, and businesses must be ready to go at that point.

  • Communication has been key in maintaining landlord and tenant relationships and securing rental income for clients. Working with, and keeping existing tenants will important for longer term gain.
