British semiconductor maker Pragmatic Semiconductor has taken an additional 12,500 sq. ft at Cambridge Science Park to double its footprint in the ecosystem.

Pragmatic has taken the space at Building 400 in the world-leading science and technology cluster where it already occupies 12,500 sq. ft. The company has leased the space from Trinity College, Cambridge. Bidwells acted as agents for the deal on behalf of Trinity College.

The news comes after Pragmatic announced in December that it secured £182m funding as part of the first close of its Series D – the largest ever raise for a European semiconductor venture funding round. The company plans to build at least 8 manufacturing lines over the next five years, creating over 500 highly skilled jobs across Oxford and Cambridge.

Cambridge Science Park is a site of strategic significance for the manufacturer, being a world-leading science and technology ecosystem. There, Pragmatic finds itself co-located with over 170 companies ranging from start-ups to some of the leading technology giants which make up the Park’s ecosystem.
